During the first four Sundays in May, Pastor Andy and I cast a vision for people to Step Up in their commitments to Christ. Later in this newsletter Dr. Burns will provide some additional specifics on the incredible response we have witnessed, but I want to focus for a moment on our baptisms and other additions. If all goes as scheduled on May 29, we will end the month having baptized at least 52 precious people and with at least 69 other additions, for a total of at least 121 new members added to this body of believers! I am reminded of what happened after the day of Pentecost when the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved (Acts 2:47 NKJV).

Now go back and read again the words of Hezekiah Walker (I like that name) with which I began this article. Better yet, sing them! I am singing them right now! What a mighty God we serve!
I believe this harvest finds its beginning two years ago, as God led us to make fresh commitments to His word (remember the 7/24 Challenge?), to prayer (including our recent corporate prayer gatherings), and to planting the seed of the gospel into our circles of influence. God has honored His word, and He will always do so!

Hear my heart, friends: Let us never forget this wonderful time in the life of Ridgecrest, coming graciously at the time of our 25th anniversary, and let us never fail to seek and love the Lord with all our hearts, with all our souls, with all our minds, and with all our strength! Finally, let us look forward to future grace, as God moves again and again.
Thank you for stepping up. Now, let’s step out and stand up for Jesus Christ as His chosen, called, and changed people!
