Volunteer & Service Opportunities

1. Safe to Sleep: The Council of Churches provides overnight shelter for homeless women at Pathways United Methodist Church at 1232 E. Dale Street. There is a need for couples or women to serve from 7 p.m. to
8 a.m. on several January nights.

2. ESL (English as a Second Language) meets Sunday afternoons from 4:30-6 p.m. at Ridgecrest. Chinese students attending Missouri State university for their EMBA degrees come to our classes;  many bring their children. We need people to invest in the lives of these children.

3. Chinese students are now arriving on the Missouri State University campus to secure an EMBA degree within the next 12 months. Enrich your life and theirs by being a friend to a student(s).  As a friend, you will meet with your student a minimum of once a month and text, email or call every couple of weeks to see how they are doing.

For more information or to volunteer, call Julie Ellis at 417.885.5217 or send her an email.

We Serve Others

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Jan. 22

As part of our recognition of the Sanctity of Human Life, we will receive an offering for the Pregnancy Care Center on Jan. 22 in all services. The money will be used to help save the lives of the unborn babies in our community and provide abstinence education at Carver Middle School. How much is the Lord asking you to give?

Souper Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5

On Feb. 5, we are collecting soup, crackers and other non-perishable food items to donate to Grand Oak Mission. Donation bins will be available at the main entrances.

Joplin MT, May 14-19 and Sept. 10-15

We are going back to Joplin to rebuild homes. This is a no-cost mission trip. Sign up at ServeFest, Feb. 5-12, or email P.K. Hinkle for more information.

Local Missions

Branch Ministry
Ridgecrest teams have a weekly worship service and Bible study at an off-campus location in an effort to disciple new believers. These new Christians have come to Christ through one of our branch churches. The only thing you need to sign up is a heart for the lost.

Celebrate Recovery Inside
As a branch of our local Celebrate Recovery program, Celebrate Recovery Inside takes their life changing curriculum to the inmates of the Fordland Correctional Center.  You will experience opportunities to minister in small break-out groups and in large group worship.

Family Violence Center
This year our church chose to join the amazing work of our local Family Violence Centers.  We have experienced nothing short of amazing blessings and unbelievable joy as we serve.  Many of our small groups do work projects at the Centers as well as minister to those who currently reside there.

Grand Oak Mission
Serving food and clothing to hundreds of families in our community a month, we support the work of our associational mission.  You can sort clothes, restock shelves or just show Jesus' love to the many families that are served each day at the mission.

Mission Possible
Since 1977, this annual one-day event has been a huge success in meeting the needs of our community. Hundreds of people from the Ridgecrest family infiltrate the community to help those who are physically or financially unable to help themselves. This day is packed with helping people with home repairs, yard work, painting and other acts of kindness. So roll up your sleeves and grab your tools for a fun day meant for blessing others.

Pregnancy Care Center
We believe strongly in the ministry done by our friends at Pregnancy Care Center.  This is shown not only by our yearly giving, but also by the Ridgecrest people who donate their time at PCC.  They are always in need of receptionists and support personnel, as well as those who would be willing to give counsel.
